History of the Foundation

Foundation History
In 2012, a vision from Roxanne Grimes; a group comprised of 4 women came together to explore the idea of
forming a Non-Profit organization to assist the needs of the Douglas County,
Georgia community and the surrounding Metropolitan Atlanta area.

November 2012 – The name Legacy of Pearls Foundation was adopted.
The group continued their efforts throughout 2013 with the following
accomplishments
End of February 2013 – Articles of Incorporation accepted by the State of GA
End of September 2013 – IRS 501c3 application submitted
After September 2013  – 1st LOPF Members Meeting
October 2013 LOPF Initial Bylaws Accepted
July 15, 2014 – Legacy of Pearls Foundation received 501c3 Non-Profit status
determination from the Internal Revenue Service
